#TeleportCafe: Missed The Event? Relive It Via WE ARE KIX’s Video

Last October, we wrote about a curious “teleport” café event, which was said to allow people to experience the pulse of New York, Rio, Paris, Marrakech, and Tokyo – all in one day, all in one place. Guess what? The event actually happened, and wrapped successfully, at that!

The Teleport Café event, which took place on 18th October 2014 at One Utama New Wing’s Oval Concourse, featured a fully operational café built into a set of giant screens that projected cityscapes shot around the world, expertly curated by WE ARE KIX.

To bestow a truly 4-dimensional experience, the Teleport café featured over 20 actors with costume changes, city specific scent diffusers (real smells!), surround sound audio, free artisanal coffee, real food, and plenty of gifts from each city.

In case you missed it, watch the final product here:

Teleport Café followed Mach by Hong Leong Bank and WE ARE KIX’s previous collaboration “Can You Walk on Water?”. At the event held at Publika in 2013, the crowd was invited to run, flip, dance and bike across a pool filled with 8,000 litres of cornstarch mixed with water (called Oobleck). Once released online, the “Can You Walk on Water?” video caught the attention of taste making global portals including BuzzFeed, 9Gag, Gizmodo, and Laughing Squid.

“Can You Walk on Water?” quickly became Malaysia’s most successful online video campaign garnering over 28 million YouTube views to date.

Perhaps the Teleport Café video will rake in more views than that? Share this and make that happen! 😉
