What? Hello Kitty turns 40 this year?

Yup! The world’s most iconic cat (or not cat, or cat, it’s up to you to decide) will be celebrating her (this we’re certain, that she’s female) 40th Anniversary and she wants you to be part of it. After all, she is expecting some 10,000 including fans from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong to visit the Sanrio Hello Kitty Town in Puteri Harbour Indoor Family Theme Park come end October onwards!

This is because in conjunction with the celebration, Sanrio Hello Kitty Town has introduced new activities starting August until end-October! After which, the theme park will play host to the massive Hello Kitty 3-day birthday carnival from 31st October – 2nd November. Just so you know, Hello Kitty’s birthday falls on 1st November. So, you could say that they’re hoping to host the first and largest Hello Kitty fans gathering in Southeast Asia.

And why wouldn’t they want to? The Sanrio Hello Kitty Town is the first Sanrio Hello Kitty Town attraction outside of Japan after all!

There will also be 4 main events for the occasion namely:

  1. Hello Kitty Friends Gathering
  2. Hello Kitty Friends Fiesta
  3. Hello Kitty Friends Catwalk
  4. Hello Kitty Friends Rock Music Festival (With live performances by popular local J-Rock band “Flying Pan” and Malaysian band BunkFace)

Expect street shows, magicians, and performers on the streets as well as plenty of things to do for the whole family like the minute-to-win-it games and indulging at the food bazaar. More importantly, we hear that fans will be able to enjoy Hello Kitty convention exclusives and grab limited edition merchandise.
