Bad news, Avicii’s fans. It seems like the Swedish producer/DJ’s quest to take over the world has to be stopped as his future performances have been cancelled due to the growing health concerns!
Earlier in March, Avicii who claimed a spot in the world’s top 10 DJs/producers by DJ Mag, was rushed to the hospital, hours before his gigs at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. His gallbladder and appendix were removed after being diagnosed with a blocked gall bladder.
The young DJ later took some time off to recover from the surgery and he was forced to pull out of his headlining slot at the 2014 Ultra Music Festival.
Although he got himself involved in a few collaboration projects, including his latest collaboration with Taiwanese superstar Wang Leehom, it appears that his health has only deteriorated since the surgery.
According to Billboard, reps for Avicii confirmed that the all touring and promotional activities have been cancelled until further notice. As of now, the DJ will recuperate in his native Stockholm and resume work on his 2nd artiste album next year.
His current health status remains unclear but we certainly hope he will recover soon!
