It’s a tragic day in fashion.
Designer L’Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide in her apartment on Monday, March 17th, 2014. NBC New York confirmed that the prestigious designer and girlfriend of Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger took her life on Monday morning in her Manhattan apartment.
The 49-year-old stunner, who recently designed a collaboration for Banana Republic and won a string of celebrity fans including Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams and more over the years, was found hanging by a scarf inside of her eighth floor apartment on 11th Avenue in New York.
Mick Jagger’s spokesperson says the singer was “completely shocked and devastated” by the sudden death of his girlfriend.
It was just last month when the style icon and former model, who previously walked for the Paris runways for Chanel and Thierry Mugler cancelled her London Fashion Week show due to production problems.
Throughout her career, L’Wren has collaborated with fashion elites including Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Karl Lagerfeld and Mario Sorrenti. She’s also established herself as a high-profile celebrity stylist working with powerhouses like Madonna and Julia Roberts over the years.
