Nearly 74,890 residents living in KL and parts of Selangor are advised to prepare for water disruptions until 20th June 2013 (Thursday). Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Department assistant general manager Priscillia Alfred in a press statement today said the disruptions were due to maintenance work:

Maintenance work is to be conducted on pump no. 3 in the pump house located in Matang Pagar, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. It will take 8 hours for the work to be completed while the recovery period will take 48 hours,” she said, adding that water supply will resume in stages in certain areas.

However, for precautionary measures, we have allocated 42 water tankers along with 525 static tanks which will be placed in the affected areas.

Residents are advised to stock up water and use it prudently as water supply will resume in stages in certain areas.

The areas that will be affected are parts of KL, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, and Petaling. Residents can contact (Puspel) at its toll free number 1-800-88-5252 to obtain additional information.
