StART Society is an ARTs Academy that exists to discover artistic talent among the underprivileged children. It’s a fun, yet rigorous 42-week 100 hour programme that teaches kids visual and performance arts – music, dance, drama, design, speech and writing, arts appreciation, drawing and craft works, and life skills. Currently, StART Society is serving 220 children from 12 shelter homes and four family homes across Klang Valley including Ti-Ratana, Shelter, Sunbeams, Agathians, R. Hope, R. Kasih, R. Juara, etc.
You may remember our post from last year from when we attended a concert organized by them. Next month, StART Society will be holding a two-night fundraising dinner event – with a twist.
Would you savour an elegant dinner at the Hilton and watch the StART children perform, as some drama sneaks up on you, little by little? Would you sit by to watch the story and the characters unfold, whilst discovering that some people are not who you think they are? When some things turn out to be not quite as they seem, will you be part of the problem? Or will you be observant enough to be part of the solution?
What if we told you that either way, you wind up a part of the story?
Enter, “The Unexpected Guest” – a dinner and drama event when you unwittingly become part of the act. Think of “Cluedo” and “CSI” and merge that with a dinner event. Yes, you would need to pick up clues to figure out who is doing what to whom. And yes, there will be amazing prizes (Samsung tablet, handphones and smart cameras) up for grabs on those nights.
Deets of “The Unexpected Guest” are as follows:
Date: 20th & 21st April 2013
Venue: Grand Ballroom, Hilton Petaling Jaya
Guests of Honour: Datin Sri Tiara Jacquelina, HE Mr. Simon Featherstone (British High Commissioner)
