It looks like we city slickers have one more reason to go to Malacca now.
Hard Rock International has opened its third Hard Rock Café in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The new Hard Rock Café is located at the entrance of Jonker Walk and within the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The 1,372 square metre café includes seating for about 200 people, an upscale vibrant bar, a spacious outdoor dining area, a live entertainment space that will feature Malacca’s unique local music scene and a “Rock Shop” (of course). In an official statement, Matthew Putna (Hard Rock International’s Senior Franchise Director, Asia Pacific) said that selected, hand-picked pieces of memorabilia from Hard Rock’s iconic collection adorn the walls of the Hard Rock Café Malacca. These pieces include:
- A “Fender Telecaster” guitar played and signed by the legendary Bruce Springsteen
- A Ludwig snare drum used onstage by Alex Van Halen during Van Halen’s 2004 world tour
- A stylish white dinner jacket worn by pop star Prince
- A jacket worn by will.i.am. of Black Eyed Peas
Fans and patrons will be able to see items from legendary and contemporary musicians from around the world, as well as enjoy items from Hard Rock’s scratch-based menu, including the favourite “Legendary Experience” menu which features a selection of 10-ounce Legendary Burgers.
Hard Rock’s “Smokehouse” menu, on the other hand, uses the very best Hickory wood chips to slowly cook its ribs and chicken to juicy, tender perfection. In addition to its food, Hard Rock Cafe’s extensive, award-winning drinks menu includes Hurricanes, Margaritas, signature favourites and Alternative Rock (alcohol-free) beverages, all available in Hard Rock souvenir collectible glassware.
