Awards Season With The Golden Globes

Oh how we love the year end. Holidays, sales, Christmas, and the awards season. One month shy from the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards (to be held in Los Angeles on 13th January 2013), the nominees are officially out and in full view of the world.

Not surprisingly, Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” picked up a couple of Golden Globe nominations – and by a couple, we mean a whopping total of seven nominations. One of which includes a nomination for the “Best Picture, Drama” trophy. Coming close to Spielberg’s work of art are “Argo” and “Django Unchained”, with five nominations each respectively.

More importantly, one of our favourites this year, “Les Misérables” has managed to rake up four nominations. Not a word of dispute whatsoever there!

In the running for “Best Animation” are none other than Disney’s “babies” such as “Frakenweenie”, “Wreck-It Ralph” (Yay!), and “Brave”. One nomination came from DreamWorks’ “Rise of the Guardians”, which is totally befitting albeit this makes it a stiff competition. Also, we could go on and on about the nominees list but we’ll leave that up to you to discuss.
