Yesterday evening (Tuesday, 2nd January), Twitter user @/adlinakml posted a message she received from one of her followers. The anonymous netizen wanted to warn others, especially women, to be careful when they visit Plaza Shah Alam (also known as Plaza Masalam) in Section 9, Shah Alam as she was almost approached by two suspicious men who were idling around at the mall’s outdoor parking space.

Not only that, the unnamed user also claimed that the strange individuals nailed a screw to the front of her car for unknown reasons. In a more detailed follow-up post, the woman who submitted the story said that the two individuals seemed to be waiting for her and her friend and would not leave until they got in their car.

The men hid themselves momentarily before walking towards the women when they were entering the car. However, the men stopped and stood behind the victim’s car when another vehicle drove in to park. The victim most likely found out about the screw once they were safe, far away from the mall. The post went viral with netizens showing concern for the victims and women who may become the next targets.

Many were shocked that the incident happened at a well-known mall in Shah Alam and tagged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to look into the situation. Others suspected that the suspicious men, believed to be foreigners, maybe human traffickers and that nailing screws to people’s cars was their way of marking their next victim.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only terrifying incident that happened there. @/adlinakml tweeted another DM she received from someone who claimed that her sister was being spied on in the restroom. In the message, the unnamed user said that her sister, who works at Plaza Masalam Tower, was using the restroom when she suddenly noticed a hand holding a phone from above.

The perpetrator fled the scene when she screamed for help. The victim went to security to check the CCTV footage. Luckily, they managed to catch the pervert before he left the premises. Although the user did not specify when this particular incident happened, they mentioned that the case has since been settled in court.

At the time of writing, it is currently unknown if Plaza Shah Alam has been made aware of the viral post of the suspicious men harassing women at the outdoor parking space. There has also been no update from the victim who submitted her story.

Regardless, we hope that everyone will be more aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious individuals to the authorities.
