Internet fame is something that is paradoxically easy yet hard to achieve. There’s plenty of ways to be internet famous and plenty of platforms to achieve so. Take 16-year-old Bell for instance.
Bell or better known by her Douyin name Bell玲惠, has been dominating a certain section on Douyin. Recently, covers for the Thai song “I Like You (ชอบเธออะ)” have been going viral. Surprisingly, Bell’s rendition of the song has been unanimously elected as the most popular.
The young Malaysian apparently uploaded her cover of the song a few days ago. Since then, it has garnered over 2 million likes and has been favourited 230,000 times. Of course, it’s easy to see why. Bell’s cheerful smile coupled with her sweet voice certainly captures one’s attention!
Netizens were quick to praise Bell’s singing. “Is this Thai?” one asked. “If so, it’s the first time I think Thai (sounds) nice.” Another said, “I love you singing Thai songs.” Several also claimed they were listening to the song on repeat as it sounds better the more you listen. One was quick to comment, “Do you think I like the songs you sing? I just like your smile.”
The 16-year-old has accumulated over 3 million followers with her cover videos. She mostly covers Thai songs, but “I like you” is the most popular one by far. Her sweet visage as she sings certainly helps! Well, the budding star is still building up her repertoire but she may just nab more attention in the future.
