Former shuttler Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei (李宗伟) may have retired from the court – but he’s still actively sharing his life on social media. Recently, the former athlete began a new series on his social media, focused on answering questions from his fans. After posting the first episode last week, Lee Chong Wei posted a new episode with more questions from the public.
In the latest episode, the first question for the former national shuttler was how much free time he gets since he’s always busy training. In his answer, Lee Chong Wei admitted that he never got much rest or free time during his athletic career and only focused on badminton. However, he said after retiring, he focused all his free time on his family and spending time with his wife, Wong Mew Choo and their three children.
The next question was regarding the possibility of Lee Chong Wei joining the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) as a coach. Unfortunately, the 42-year-old said he never thought of becoming a coach and doesn’t plan to. However, he said he still stays in contact with the association and meets up occasionally to discuss and find solutions for any issues the BAM may have.
The last question in the episode was regarding his most expensive car and car collection. The fan also claimed that Lee Chong Wei owns ten cars, which the renowned shuttler amusingly denied. While he never mentioned his most expensive ride, Lee Chong Wei briefly listed his rides from over the years, including his first – a Proton Wira. He also spoke about owning a sports car, albeit never mentioning the model, jokingly adding that it’s only apt for him, a sportsman, to own a sports car.
Towards the end of the video, Lee Chong Wei also teased the next episode of his Q&A series, garnering much anticipation from his fans. We can’t wait to learn more about the reputable former national player through this mini-series.
