Last month, influencer Cik B celebrated Father’s Day by honouring her mother Dato Seri Vida in a TikTok video, much to the celebrity entrepreneur’s surprise. Most fans were amused by the video she posted while others were genuinely curious about what exactly happened to her birth father.
It was previously reported that their father, Mohd Amin Yasin didn’t want custody over his children so it’s no wonder why neither the content creator nor her brother had ever disclosed their relationship with him. That is until very recently when Cik B opened up about her family’s situation.

During an interview on the “Buka Mulut” podcast show earlier this week, Cik B revealed how she was raised by a single mother for most of her life. Just like what she said in her Father’s Day post, “My mother carried the responsibility of a father in our family so she’s been my everything – Father, Mother, Sister and Bestie. So that’s why I’ve also always considered her as my father (as well).”
When asked about her relationship with her actual father, the young business owner said that they had been estranged since she was very young. “I haven’t seen him much since I was like 2-3 years old. When we do see him at the time, it’s always money-related. We’re no longer in contact although he has tried to DM me on Instagram,” she said. The influencer added that her father only made efforts to reconnect after both his kids had grown up.
The “Buka Mulut” podcast host asked if Cik B ever misses her father to which she replied, “I don’t feel anything. I don’t miss him. There’s no sense of yearning to reconnect with him. There is only trauma. I feel traumatised with men”. The episode attracted a lot of attention on social media, particularly TikTok, where most netizens sympathised with the “I Am Me” singer’s daughter. Some commented that they could relate to her story while others argued that the young celeb should still forgive her estranged father.

It’s understandable why any child would rather let the past go than reestablish a relationship with someone who has been absent for most of their life. Whether or not Cik B decides to one day forgive her father is still no one’s business but her own.
