From BTS To TWICE: 6 K-pop Groups That Renewed Their Contracts As A Full Group

In the K-pop industry, it’s fairly standard for a group to create a seven-year-long contract with their company when they debut. Once the seven years come to a close, the members then discuss with their agencies to see whether they want to renew or embark on a new journey in their careers.

Despite there being so many groups in K-pop, it’s actually a rarity for idols to renew their contracts as a full group. When a group does renew their contract with all its members, it’s often a call for celebration as it shows their close bond in the unforgiving entertainment industry. Here are 6 groups that have resigned with their company, with all their members:

BTS (방탄소년단)

K-pop’s most popular boy band proves their bond after all seven of the members renewed their contract with Big Hit Music/HYBE twice. In 2018, the group renewed their contract with the label two years before the original contract ending date. Later in 2023, the members renewed their contract for the second time, which gives them time to make a full group comeback after their military hiatus.

SEVENTEEN (세븐틴)

Arguably one of the most prominent contract renewals in K-pop is SEVENTEEN, mostly because of the size of the group. In 2021, the 13-member boy band announced plans to continue with Pledis Entertainment for five years, meaning their next renewal discussion is set for 2026. Regardless, the contract renewal is a testament to the group’s mutual trust in each other despite having so many members.

TWICE (트와이스)

One of the few girl groups to renew their contracts as a full group is TWICE. In 2022, JYP Entertainment announced that all nine members had renewed their contracts. In July 2025, media outlets reported that the group renewed their contracts for the second time. Interestingly, the TWICE members revealed that SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan helped influence their decision to stay together during the first round of renewals.

KARD (카드)

KARD debuted in July 2017, making them one of the rare co-ed groups in the K-pop industry at the time. In 2022, all four members renewed their contracts with DSP Media. In 2024, the group renewed their contract for the second time. The two-time renewal highlights the members’ close bond despite being in a co-ed group. KARD is also still actively promoting, recently dropping their eighth mini-album, “Drift” in July 2025.

One of the most recent contract renewals comes from ATEEZ. In July 2025, KQ Entertainment announced that all eight members renewed their contracts. More surprisingly, the members renewed their contract for seven years, which is rare, as the majority of contract renewals are only for three years. The renewal period proves the group’s positive relationship with each other and the agency.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER (투모로우바이투게더)

TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) also recently renewed their contract with Big Hit Music/HYBE, announcing the news in August 2025 during their concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome. In a handwritten letter to fans, leader Soobin expressed his gratitude for their love and support, saying the contract renewal shows the group’s shared commitment to go “longer and farther” together.

Honourable Mentions:

Like the other groups in the list, NU’EST, SF9, SHINee, Red Velvet, and Dream Catcher also renewed their contracts as a full group in the first round. However, for their second contact renewals, some members chose to leave the company but continue to participate in group activities.
