A group of food delivery riders surrounded and bashed up a young BMW driver after he crashed into another rider recently.

According to China Press, the incident took place near Econsave Muar over the past weeekend. As seen in the photo shared by the news outlet, the crash severely damaged the left side of the vehicle, while the victim was left lying on the ground – injured.

It was later revealed that the BMW driver, who works as a doctor, was driving alone at that time. An eye-witness who was passing by the area shared that he saw the BMW driver being surrounded by a group of food delivery riders after the accident happened.

Oriental Daily reported that the driver was beaten up by the riders, but he managed to get into his car amid the brawl and fled the scene. He even ran several red lights along the way, attempting to lose the enraged delivery convoy.

They then rode their motorbikes to chase after the doctor, and the thundering sounds from the engines alerted the attention of the traffic authorities who were nearby. The riders then dispersed from the scene after the cops stopped the car and took over the incident.

Muar Police Chief ACP Zaharudin Rasip said that the police have received a report on the matter and are currently requiring more information on the accident.

The police are on the lookout for 32-year-old Goh Leong Yong who jumped the fence of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) building recently.

Sources have also revealed that the “Macau Scam” mastermind spent up to RM4 million monthly on bribing authorities.

Source: Malaysia Today

According to Utusan Malaysia, Goh (who used a fake “Datuk Seri” title) allocated around RM2 million to RM4 million of his money per month to bribe authorities to stay silent about his illegal acts. It was reported that up to 100 individuals had received money from Goh including police officers, influential figures, and even government officials.

Those involved were allegedly paid off to protect both his “Macau Scam” and online gambling site activities. He also paid these irresponsible people in exchange for vital information on matters such as raids that were pre-planned by the authorities.

The individuals involved are currently being detained and investigated by the MACC, who are attempting to fully crack down the entire “Macau Scam” operation. Recently, it was revealed that Goh earns RM1.08 billion a year from the syndicate’s illegal activities, which has been running for the past five to six years, as per Utusan Malaysia.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is currently on the man-hunt for Goh and have released an official “wanted” poster. Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed stated that the suspect’s last known location was at a condominium in Jalan Cheras.

Huzir requested anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to contact any police station and noted that “the cooperation of the public is much appreciated.”

Food Republic has bid adieu to its patrons at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

Recently, the popular food court chain announced the shocking closure of its food outlet at 1 Utama. Although the company did not state its reason, many are assuming that financial losses play a huge factor.

Food Republic

The statement reads:

Our outlet at 1 Utama has officially ceased operations. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you very much for patronising Food Republic at 1 Utama all these years.”

Netizens took to the comments section to mourn their favourite Teppanyaki and PepperLunch meals. Fret not though, since the Food Republic at Pavilion KL is still open for business.

Rabithah, a Malaysian nasheed group, dropped a cover of BLACKPINK (블랙핑크)’s “Ice Cream” titled “Hatiku” on the YouTube page Tarbiyah Sentap last week.

For those who don’t know, the four-piece musical ensemble often release covers of several popular songs with their own twist, as a form of spreading dakwah (Islamic messages) among Muslims. Some of their past song covers include Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello’s “Senorita” and also BTS’ chart-topping hit “Dynamite“.

Well, not everyone was impressed with this project. In this case, Rabithah’s cover of the song, which featured Selena Gomez, was met with dividing reactions from netizens. Many argued that the K-pop song is not really suitable to be made as a cover.

Others also left negative remarks, saying that the overall sound is too cringeworthy to listen to. Despite the criticisms, there are also a few fans who praised the efforts made by the boys. Check out some of the reactions shared by Twitter users here:

Previously, Rabithah also came up with a cover of BLACKPINK’s 2019 song “Kill This Love”. Watch the clips below and feel free to share your thoughts with us. 😉

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) is busy filming for the series titled “Children’s Hospital” for the time being. However, fans are led to believe this could be her last show.

During a recent interview after her shoot for the show’s music video theme song, the 36-year-old actress shared that the one thing on her mind is her family.

Source: 8 Days

The TVB star revealed that she hasn’t seen her husband and children for 3 months now – all of whom are currently residing in Canada. In case you didn’t know, Linda is married to chiropractor Jeremy Leung. Their kids are Kelly, 4, and Jared, 2, respectively.

We are now communicating via video every night,” she was quoted as saying. “My son is still young and does not mind greeting me via camera. My daughter is closer to me and tells me frequently: ‘Miss you, come home now’.”

According to Linda, her initial plan was to fly her family to Hong Kong in August. However, that plan was scrapped due to Covid-19 concerns. As it stands, the actress will probably return to Canada once filming is completed. “I am counting down to the days as I still have 36 days of filming,” she said.

She also credits hubby Jeremy for taking care of their household while she’s away. “This may be my last drama, I really don’t know, I may film the next one in 10 years’ time,” she said. “I have to consider my role as a mother when I take on the next job.”

Hopefully we won’t need to wait a decade long for her next TV or movie project. Hang in there Linda 😉

1 Utama temporarily closed the mall after announcing their first Covid-19 case earlier this month, when a staff member tested positive for the virus. This eventually led the mall to conduct an unprecedented mass testing for all their staff and workers.

The Bandar Utama mall reopened on 17th October after undergoing deep cleansing and sanitisation works. Even though business is running as usual, people still don’t feel safe coming there, making it feel like a “ghost town”.

Previously, the mass testing that the mall conducted initially found 21 people tested to be positive, and it was named the “1 Utama Cluster”. The number has since gone up with a total number of 183 positive cases, reported by MOH on Sunday (18th October).

Nevertheless, 1 Utama isn’t the only mall that witnessed a huge drop in visitors. A local portal’s recent visit to Mid Valley Megamall has shown it to be as deserted even on a “usually-busy” Sunday.

The mall in KL is currently open as usual from 10am to 10pm, with their tenants having flexible operating hours. Mid Valley Megamall first confirmed a positive case on 11th October when a London Sales Cosmetics Sdn Bhd (LSC) staff contracted the virus from a family member.

Even those who have to run errands at certain malls are keeping their time spent there to a bare minimum during this CMCO 2.0. An Instagram user, @livelovepassioneat, recently posted a photo on their feed showing the situation in Suria KLCC was not as packed as it usually is.

We believe the situation isn’t any different with other unmentioned malls as Malaysians are taking the recommended step by the government to stay at home during this period.

Feel free to check out the current status of malls during the CMCO here.

Dua Lipa recently called out a British tabloid for publishing fake news about her. This tabloid accused the “New Rules” singer of “flouting” Covid-19 regulations during a music video rehearsal last week. However, Lipa later insisted that the report is “completely untrue”.

The 25-year-old singer recently wrote a statement on her Instagram story explaining that this is not the first time the tabloid had spread false stories about her. She also stated that her lawyers have sent a letter to this publication, as legal action will be taken regarding the issue.

Source: Variety

The Grammy award winner refused to name the publication in her Instagram story, as she did not want to give it “free publicity”. However, speculations have been made that Lipa was referring to the British newspaper The Sun.

This popular tabloid is said to have published an article last week showing images of the starlet not wearing a mask while in Shoreditch, London. The article also claimed that the police had been called to the video shoot as the pop star wasn’t social distancing.

“A tabloid newspaper in the UK (who I won’t give free publicity to by naming), last night published a story about my video shoot in London and what they said was a flouting of Covid regulations,” wrote Lipa on her Instagram story.

Source: ET Canada

She added, “This is completely untrue. absolutely all guidelines were complied with. This is one of many untrue stories published by this newspaper about me this year. My lawyers have sent a letter to the newspaper today.”

She also accused British tabloids of giving priority to making money instead of reporting the truth and considering the person’s feelings. “It’s a shame that some of the British press have more regard for selling papers than the truth or the feelings of the person they are talking about,” wrote the disappointed singer-songwriter.

It has been reported that the tabloid has since removed this particular article after the “IDGAF” star made it a point to call them out.

Source: Twitter

The young celeb called this action against tabloids spreading false stories as her “own small stand”. Her Instagram story concluded with the statement, “There have been far worse examples of this in the last year involving other British entertainment figures, but I am going to take my own small stand.”

The publication in question has still not publicly responded to Lipa’s comments.

Jason Derulo has been trending all over Twitter this week – over an issue of song credit!

The singer received tons of backlash from K-pop fans (particularly ARMYs) for failing to give proper credit to the members of BTS (방탄소년단) after the remixed version of his hit song “Savage Love”, which features the globally famous K-pop group, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Jason took to his TikTok to post a video of him and his friends celebrating the success of the song, with the original version of “Savage Love” playing in the background over the weekend. “It’s a celebration @#savagelove @hannastocking @ondreazlopez @charlyjordan @itstaylerholder @justmaiko @sommeray @jena @mrmovi3.”

Notice something missing?

Well, the singer failed to mention or tag BTS in the clip, much to the dismay of ARMYs. This sparked a major outcry among fans, who called the pop star out for discrediting the “DNA” jam-makers’ participation in the viral hit. Most of them took to Twitter and used the hashtag “#JasonDeruloIsOverParty” to vent out their frustration.

Check out a few Twitter reactions from enraged ARMYs below:

Following the massive backlash, the “In My Head” singer then reposted the clip on his Twitter account and tagged both producer Jawsh 685 and BTS in the post. Here’s what he said:

For the past few weeks, the increasing amount of Covid-19 cases have been maintained at 3 digits. As such, the government is considering implementing a stricter Conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya.

Is it really necessary? Probably so, with new cases reported at more hotspots, offices and residences around Klang Valley yesterday.

1. Menara Great Eastern

Covid-19

To curb the confusion from getting out of hand, Great Eastern Mall released a statement on its Facebook, informing the public that the Covid-19 case happened in an adjoining office tower and not in Great Eastern Mall. “Please rest assured that we have carried out a thorough sanitisation in the buildings and will continue to adhere to MOH requirements,” the statement added.

2. H20 Residences, Ara Damansara

A resident staying at Block C of H20 Residences in Ara Damansara is believed to have contracted Covid-19 from another patient staying in the same unit. Both patients are currently receiving treatment.

The said resident was under quarantine and sharing the same unit with the first patient and had not utilised any facilities, ” the condominium’s management office said. “Residents are reminded to adhere to the conditional movement control order (MCO) guidelines.”

3. PV13 Platinum Lake, Setapak

Residents living in PV13 Platinum Lake were informed that someone living in Block A, level 5, had tested positive for Covid-19 after receiving a swab test during the weekend. It is also understood that the tenant is local and works at Great Eastern Mall in Jalan Ampang. However, we’re not sure if it’s connected to the case at Menara Great Eastern.

Too much of a coincidence?

4. Aurora Residence, Puchong

Folks living at Aurora Residence were notified by the management that a tenant living at Block B, level 25, is seeking treatment at a government hospital after contracting the virus. Disinfection process was carried out by in-house workers on Sunday night (11pm).

In addition to the aforementioned, MalaysiaKini also confirmed that these places were affected by Covid-19 cases:

  • Saville @ The Park, Bangsar – 19th October
  • Residensi PandanMas, Kampung Pandan – 19th October
  • Maxwell Towers, Petaling Jaya – 19th October
  • Proton HQ, Shah Alam – 19th October
