Recently, a Twitter user named Azhar Ibrahim shared that he had been blocked by the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) official Twitter account!

The netizen was apparently blocked after he corrected an inaccurate information in one of their statements online. Seemingly disheartened by this, Azhar also slammed the attitude of the account’s admin for unreasonably blocking social media users.

According to Azhar, he found that he was blocked online after he addressed one of the tweets about the ratio of doctors to each resident. In one of the tweets, Health Minister Dr. Adham Baba stated that the ratio of one doctor to every population in Malaysia is 1 : 454. This was regarded as a positive statistic than what the WHO has recommended; 1 :500.

In this case, the netizen pointed out that the statement posted contradicted with the actual information released by the WHO where developing countries require a ratio of 1: 400 instead of 1: 500. The tweet on MoH’s account has since been deleted as at time of writing.

What are your thoughts on this?

A couple in Penang raised concern among netizens after a photo of them wearing what appeared to be the Covid-19 wristband went viral on social media over the weekend.

However, the police have since confirmed that the duo are not persons under surveillance (PUS). The actual report stated that the pink bracelets are actually tags to enter a dog cafe.

Source: Coconuts

According to Timur Laut police chief, Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong, the police took swift action in tracking down the 21-year-old factory worker and the 25-year-old shop assistant after they received the report at 3:25pm. Both of them were called in by the cops to assist with the investigation.

“The couple said they had visited a pet shop at New World Park at 12:30pm on Sunday (2nd August). They clarified that the pink wristbands with the words “Husky And The Gang” were provided by the employees there,” Soffian said in a statement.

The duo then admitted that the individuals in the viral picture were indeed them. They explained that they didn’t take off the tags because they had plans to return to the pet cafe later in the evening.

The duo added that they went to Bukit Bendera to buy a pair of tickets at 3pm. But since they had to wait longer than expected, the couple cancelled their plan and went to a shopping mall instead. That was the moment when they were spotted for allegedly breaking the rule at the funicular train station.

Based on the background check with the Ministry of Health (MoH), their names are not in the PUS list.

A freelance personal trainer was really exposed for making unsolicited sexual advances  towards a woman.

An Instagram post depicting the inappropriate incident, that took place in a gym in Singapore, has since gone viral. The guilty individual has apparently deleted all his socials and website after being exposed.

An Instagram user named Cheryl Loh posted a disturbing post on her account yesterday (Tuesday, 4th August). Her intention was to highlight a recent sexual harassment of a fitness instructor using his hands to grope his client’s backside during their sessions.

According to Cheryl – who personally reached out to the victim in question – the unprofessional trainer was told multiple times to not touch the woman’s butt. Despite the request, he went on with his habit, claiming that he was simply “checking” her muscle movement.

Aperio Performance, the fitness centre where the aforementioned video took place, has since banned the man from suing the premise. It should also be noted that he is a freelance coach and not an employee of the gym.

Those who often see him at their gyms claim that he usually preys on attractive young ladies. Although the victim wishes to remain anonymous (presumably to avoid unwanted attention), she gave Cheryl her consent to post their conversation. Hopefully, this would bring awareness to more people that unsolicited physical contact is not normal and shouldn’t be allowed.

Several netizens reveal that his real name is Melvin but goes by his trainer name as David Mesut and allegedly runs a fitness coaching program called Ultralete Fitness. As at time of writing, the Ultralete Fitness website, Facebook and Instagram account have been deleted by the owner.

Malaysian influencer and co-founder of MotionLab Maggy Wang shared her two cents on this incident. She also elaborated on what is and isn’t appropriate when it comes to one-on-one coaching. Read her statement below:

❌ 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵/𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 — 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 — ❌ When the other party is not comfortable with such action, this is considered a case of sexual assault. It is a very serious offence in Singapore, and unfortunately this has happened way too many times with coaches abusing their position and authority to do things like that. I personally consider this more despicable and disturbing than molesting a stranger – this is using the student’s trust to commit such an act, which can really mindfuck a person for a long time. The coach in this video is a freelance trainer working by himself, and is not an employee of the gym. I have reached out to the client (swipe to second image) to let her know that it is NOT normal for such physical interaction during training, it is very unprofessional, and that she can speak up if she have felt uncomfortable about her coach touching inappropriately and groping during some exercises. Also spoke to her (not on text), and it turned out this was indeed her first time having a coach, facing such situation for the first time. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺 “don’t touch my butt” a few times over 7 training sessions, but he still went ahead to do so, using “checking muscles” as an excuse – which many trainers will know that’s complete BS. 𝗔𝗽𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺 from using the gym space to conduct his own PT sessions – with effect from 2 August – and the client has now stopped training with him. She will not be making a police report, but she has given me the permission to share about this as she also wants all women, girls, or even guys out there to know that this behaviour is not acceptable and that nobody should put up with any actions that make them feel uneasy, uncomfortable, and disrespected. Anyone that feels this way should speak up and not let the perpetrator has his/her way. #ShareThisPost I am very glad that @apeirolife doesn’t tolerate such behaviour, and I’m happy to be conducting my PT sessions in a safe, fun, and professional space with other likeminded professional trainers. _

A massive explosion of an ammonium nitrate fertiliser depot that rocked Lebanon’s capital city Beirut on Tuesday (4th August) evening has reportedly killed 73 people and injured nearly 4,000 locals.

The blast not only caused destruction in the area, but also caused damage to several other buildings located a few kilometres from the location. Sadly, among those impacted by the incident include Nur Sajat‘s boyfriend, Lebanese native Jad Issa.

Sources: IG Story via Gempak

In responding to a netizen’s question about Jad’s current condition, the queer figure said, “Alhamdulillah, he is doing fine. However, one of his relatives died at the scene.” 😭” Additionally, Sajat also took to her Instagram to share the situation happening at the country as a result of the explosion. However, scrolling through Jad’s Instagram, the 27-year-old hunk has yet to address the news.

Meanwhile, as reported by Malaysiakini, the officials expected the death toll to rise following the blast, as emergency workers dug through rubble to rescue people and retrieve the dead. The explosion was the most powerful one yet to hit Beirut, which is already suffering from an economic crisis as well as the surge of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Following the unfortunate event, Lebanese President Michel Aoun has called on the Cabinet to hold an emergency meeting to declare a state of emergency in Beirut for two weeks.

The hashtags #PrayForBeirut and #PrayForLebanon have also been circulating on social media.

In a new interview with Fast Company, the Deadpool actor expressed his regret:

It’s something we’ll always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for. It’s impossible to reconcile. What we saw at the time was a wedding venue on Pinterest. What we saw after was a place built upon devastating tragedy. Years ago we got married again at home — but shame works in weird ways. A giant f**king mistake like that can either cause you to shut down or it can reframe things and move you into action. It doesn’t mean you won’t f**k up again. But re-patterning and challenging lifelong social conditioning is a job that doesn’t end.”

This came after the 43-year-old actor and 32-year-old actress posted a lengthy statement about their own misgivings in light of the Black Lives Matter movement on 1st June.

A man came under fire this week after a clip of him insulting Malaysian Royals and the Islam religion went viral on social media.

Word has it that the individual in question is a Malaysian citizen who is currently residing overseas. In the video, he was seen throwing harsh remarks targeted towards the rulers of the country.

Fuelled with anger, the man went on to describe the Monarch system in Malaysia as a waste. “In Malaysia, we have 9 Muslim rulers. What a f**kin waste of resources. Whereas in China, there are only 3 rulers considering the size of its landmarks,” he was quoted as saying.

The man was also seen criticising the Malays and Muslims in this country by questioning their rights belonging to the community, including having large number of religious schools. Not only that, the issue of protection provided to Indian Muslim preacher Zakir Naik was also brought to light.

As reported by Harian Metro, Deputy Director (Investigation and Legal) Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Deputy Commissioner Mior Faridalathrash Wahid has confirmed that the video was recorded in the UK.

However, the identity of the man in the clip has yet to be identified. The police also informed that no police report has been lodged against him as of now. Having said that, the man could be investigated according to Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948.

We’re a sucker for classics and the ASICS Gel-Lyte III fits right in our wheelhouse.

Released a few months ago, the Gel-Lyte III bears almost the same design as the previously revealed ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Modern Tokyo Pack” – modelling itself after the iconic Shibuya crossing.

ASICSASICS

Here are some of the reasons why we love the Gel-Lyte III sneaker:

  • While some may think it’s a bit extra, we’re really vibing with the exaggerated, aerodynamic midsole. It’s an eye-catching addition at first glance.
  • It’s also eye pleasing to see how the black contrast against the toe cap, heel, and the second coat – giving it a more futuristic look while still maintaining minimalistic.
  • As with sneakers under the ASICS GEL category, the Gel-Lyte III offers effective cushioning thanks to the Flytefoam technology in the midsole.
  • The upper construction with primarily no-sew overlays and an asymmetrical lacing system also help reduce forefoot irritation.
  • Last but not least, the lightweight build definitely still holds its own against other competitors in the market.

If you’re looking for the latest addition, ASICS has just launched AW20 Indoor Collection designed to enhance speed and agility. It features 4 products with a variety of playing styles and ability levels.

1. Court Control FF

  • Flytefoam Midsole Technology – effortless movements, powerful strides
  • Badminton-specific Outsole
  • Trusstic System Technology – stability, durability and flexibility
  • PU-covered Upper
  • Rearfoot GEL™ Technology Cushioning System – reduces impact when landing

2. Gel-Blade 7

  • Rearfoot Gel Cushioning System
  • Trusstic System Technology
  • PGuard Toe Protector
  • Seamless Upper Construction
  • EVA Midsole MaterialLightweight
  • Reinforced forefoot
  • Removable OrthoLite Sockliner
  • Multi-directional sole

3. Gel-Rocket 9

  • Forefoot Gel Technology Cushioning System (COURT)
  • Trusstic System Technology
  • Octopod Outsole Technology
  • Solid Rubber Outsole
  • Removable sockliner
  • Open mesh upper

4. Upcourt 4

  • Open Mesh Construction

Just last week, ASICS announced that that it will be debuting its very own face mask that is super breathable. Called the ASICS Runners Face Cover, it is build with sports junkies in mind – allowing runners to breathe comfortably while running at high speed.

The 5 highlights of the product are:

  • Interior Space – The unique curved structure creates more room inside the face cover to allow easier breathing when running.
  • Strategically Placed Air Vents – Air vents innovatively placed on the face cover provide unobstructed airflow while preventing the spread of droplets.
  • Quick-drying, Washable Fabric –  Cutting-edge material cools the air flowing into the mouth, improving breathability and comfort. The water repellent, washable fabric makes cleaning easier.
  • Comfort Fit – Specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of face shapes with an adjustable cord to ensure it fits while also helping to prevent building up of fog when wearing glasses.
  • Sustainable Design – Produced with approximately 31% recycled materials.

ASICS ASICS

The new ASICS Runners Face Cover will debut globally around mid-September and will be available in Malaysia from mid-November onwards at a retail price of RM169.

Fraser’s Hill is regarded as one of the widely popular holiday spots in our country among locals and foreign tourists alike.

However, it was revealed yesterday (Monday, 3rd August) that the resort hill in Pahang may be affected by a new resort development project soon.

The news was shared by the Malaysian Heritage Agency (Badan Warisan Malaysia/BWM). They expressed their concern over the natural site of Fraser’s Hill where the development is set. It is understood that the project will be established at Allan’s Water, a recreational lake that used to be a source of hill water.

For those curious, the resort, known as Fraser’s Hill Resort & Spa, is developed by Ikhasas Group and will provide 181 rooms as well as other facilities. Although the site is private land, as a location that has its own historical values, many have been taking note of the importance of preserving the holiday destination.

Therefore, a petition was launched by the organisation which calls for the development project to be reviewed. At the time of writing (Tuesday, 4th August), the petition has gained over 5,000 signatures from the public.

It seems like a Covid-19 super spreader has been identified and things aren’t looking good for those residing in Kedah.

A Covid-19 patient recently violated his home quarantine when he dined in a nasi kandar restaurant at Pekan Napoh, Jitra, after returning from India. Both him and the restaurant owner were tested positive for the deadly disease.

Many people are now pissed off at the irresponsible individuals for forming the Sivagangga cluster. The covidiot has reportedly infected up to 21 people so far (with the youngest being a 2-year-old).

To make things worst, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has now discovered that the restaurant owner did not bother to follow the government’s SOPs. Since the owner did not use a MySejahtera QR code or record customers’ details manually, the Ministry is now tasked with the tough job of performing contact tracing.

Source: Facebook

The owner isn’t the only covidiot. One of his customers was tested positive for Covid-19 after he went out to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha. “He did an antibody rapid test at a private clinic on 27th July and the results returned negative at that time,” said Dr Noor Hisham.

He added, “However, on 31st July, he came down with a fever and cough but he did not inform the district health office or the health clinic for treatment. Only a day after being involved in Hari Raya Aidiladha activities did he notify that he is a close contact to the index case.” The patient is currently receiving treatment at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.

Out of 425 people who have been linked to the cluster, 362 tested negative while 42 individuals are still waiting for their results.

Starting 1st August 2020, the government has made it compulsory for everyone to wear face masks in crowded public places and also when using public transport. If you fail to comply, you could be fined RM1,000.

However, there has been a lot of confusion on which occasion would require the public to wear face masks. As a result, many were fined for not putting their masks on including while driving in their private cars.

Source: Google Image

To avoid further uncertainty, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in a live conference yesterday (Monday, 3rd August) that he had met the PDRM authorities and have decided to cancel the fines. That’s not all! Those who paid fines for not wearing masks in their private vehicles are allowed to claim a refund.

He then elaborated on which specific locations requires the usage of face masks. According to the minister, face masks are mandatory when you are in a crowded area like buses, taxis, LRT, MRT, KTM, as well as e-hailing rides. Other public places namely markets, cinemas and tourist spots are also included in the list.

Whereas the locations where you don’t have to wear face masks are inside your house and also in your own vehicle. “The same case goes for those who are on the beach. If only one person is at the place and is not crowded, there’s no need to wear a mask,” said Ismail Sabri. He added, “Another example is the football field, its a spacious area, so people can still practise social distancing.”

During the conference, Ismail Sabri also announced that children aged two years and below are not required to wear face masks as it may affect their breathing. However, parents should be responsible and avoid bringing young children out to crowded places.
