Ballet Illuminations: Singapore Dance Theatre Brings Ballet Tour To Penang

Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will return to Malaysia this May to share their love and passion for dance with the Malaysian audience, through Ballet Illuminations!

After 4 consecutive years of successful performances at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac), SDT has been invited back to present a selection of classical and contemporary favourites from the repertoire, with three choreographic works presented for the first time at Performance Arts Centre of Penang (penangpac) from 8th – 10th May 2015.

SDT will perform in Stage 1 at penangpac on 8th May at 8:30pm, 9th May at 3pm, and 8:30pm and 10th May at 2pm. This performance is made possible with the support of YTL Corporation Berhad, National Arts Council, and penangpac.

SDT will also be performing at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) from 1st – 3rd May.

Ballet Illuminations (penangpac) will feature a medley of diverse and exquisite works by award-winning choreographers, showcasing the finest examples of choreography to the Malaysian audience. The performance line-up includes stunning works of choreography by world-renowned choreographers including Singaporean choreographer Choo-San Goh, Japanese choreographer Toru Shimazaki, Edmund Stripe, and choreography after Marius Petipa.

The annual Ballet Illuminations is a perfect display of versatility and talent that is synonymous with SDT’s unique identity as a company that is equally adept at these challenging and varied genres of dance.

Be captivated as Singapore Dance Theatre brings to the stage a fine mix of classical and contemporary ballet at this year’s Ballet Illuminations!

Ballet Illuminations (penangpac) is a joint collaboration between Singapore Dance Theatre and penangpac.
