The stats are in as Pornhub releases its “Year in Review” report, giving a run down of trends and types of porn that users have been using to satisfy themselves.
Culture-wise, the Kardashian/Jenner clan seem to be very popular on the list of top celebrity searches. Whenever Hollywood stars make headlines, that tends to result in the increase of Pornhub searches for those celebs.
Porn star Stormy Daniels sits comfortably at the top spot after surfacing in mainstream press coverage, mainly in reference to bribery payoffs on behalf of Donald Trump. Most of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters made it to the top list including Kim, Kylie, Kendall and Khloe. Searches for Khloe’s NBA player beau – Tristan Thompson increased by 2653% – after proof of his cheating scandal leaked online.
The most searched male actor went to Noah Centineo. Interest in him shot up 874% after he became the internet’s latest “boyfriend crush” following his appearances in Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser“.
Who can forget the public physical altercation between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B during New York Fashion Week at Harper’s Bazaar Icons party? The fact that Minaj candidly talked about her sexual preference on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” may have also contributed to the searches.
Other pop stars that made it to the top 30 list include Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Shawn Mendes. According to Pornhub, searches for Iggy Azalea increased by more than 3000% in August after word got out that she was linked to NFL player DeAndre Hopkins.
In terms of gender demographic, “lesbian” appears to be the most popular search among female visitors. Meanwhile, “Japanese” was men’s most favourite search in place of “MILF”. The demand for “Hentai” (overtly sexualised sub-genre of Japanese anime) continues to grow as it sits at 3rd place for both men and women.
Following the “Japanese” demographic, many users have also turn to “Korean” for online arousal. Searches for the category went up by 188% among women and 213% among men. Based on the graph below, women are also more likely to view “pu**y licking” and “lesbian” videos as compared to men.
Interestingly, FMT reported that Malaysia is no longer to the top 20 list of countries that frequent Pornhub. Just last year, it was stated that Malaysian women ranked 7th among women who accessed Pornhub through mobile devices. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has banned Pornhub with the intention to curb the sharing child pornography.
Having said that, data shows that Asian porn is still the most viewed category in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei.
