Marina Bay Sands not only houses some of the best attractions and ultra-luxurious shopping stores in Singapore, there are also world-famous restaurants to send you on an gastronomical adventure!
During our recent stay at Marina Bay Sands, we had a rare opportunity of tantalising our taste buds in a myriad of senses. There are so many good restaurants and chefs with breathtaking skills, but we’ve narrowed it down to just three. Here are our top picks in no particular order:
1. Lavo
If Oscar and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx was willing to fly across the world to attend the launch of Lavo Singapore, you know this venue is lit AF. Sold as a “vibe dining experience”, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar not only offers one of the best dining scenes with stunning view, there is also a DJ booth that spins music every day. Your experience doesn’t just end after dinner. The night life continues and you can feel free to dance the night away.
Lavo’s floor plan is divided into three sections – a lounge area at the entrance, a bar with brickwork and dark wooden furnishings, plus a main dining area for 158 people. There is also an outdoor garden terrace with an adjoining rooftop bar.
No Lavo experience would be complete without the infamous one-pound Meatball. Although it is listed as an appetiser, The Meatball (which consists of fresh ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage served with fresh whipped ricotta) is enough to feed more than two mouths.
On the menu, Chopped “Louie” was a standout among the salad choices. The dish had a mixture of lobster, shrimp, assorted vegetables mixed with house vinaigrette. Penne Seafood Alfredo and Rigatoni Melanzana from the pasta section was exceptional.
As far as entree goes, the two dishes that gave us that “ooh” feeling were the Roasted Black Cod and Porterhouse Steak. The flavours and taste for the Cod (heirloom tomato, butter, and crispy Portabello) were smooth and yet not strong. Meanwhile our medium rare steak was tender and flavourful.
When it comes to dessert, Lavo does not play around. Most birthday occasions are celebrated with the 20-layer Chocolate Cake. The chocolate devil’s food cake is layered with peanut butter mascarpone. However, if you’re not a super big fan of peanut butter, we’d suggest the New York Cheesecake Sundae. It’s a refreshing dessert that balances the heavy meal.

2. Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay
Everybody knows who Gordon Ramsay is. Although Bread Street Kitchen debuted its fifth branch in Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands back in June 2015, visitors are still eager to drop by, hoping to taste some familiar dishes they’ve seen on Ramsay’s TV shows.
Located at the far end of the Shoppes, the vibrant spot offers a compelling view of the waterfront and definitely a strategic spot to relax while enjoying a meal. The menu boosts a selection of starters, mains, and desserts.
We kicked things off Tamarind Spiced Chicken Wings (it was more sweet-savoury rather than spicy), the set of Mushroom Tart (very flavourful), and the refreshing salad dish (that came with watermelon, avocado, feta, rocket, pumpkin seeds, balsamic).
Following that were the mains. Although we weren’t too crazy about Traditional Fish & Chips, the Roasted Dingley Dell Pork Belly and Mushroom Risotto with deep fried enoki were sensational. The pork belly skin was very crispy while the meat was tender and it literally melts in your mouth. The Mushroom Risotto had us wishing we had two stomachs so we could order another plate.
To quote Ramsay, “In cooking it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” You can’t leave Bread Street Kitchen without having some desserts. If you’re dining in with a group of friends or family, we’d highly recommend the BSK Dessert Platter.

3. db Bistro & Oyster Bar by Daniel Boulud
Another famous celebrity chef restaurant we visited was French chef Daniel Boulud’s db Bistro & Oyster Bar. General Manager Andrew Burns personally prepared their signature Steak Tartare live for us. The dish came with a mixture of USDA prime sirloin, cornichon, capers, and parsley.
For desserts, pastry chef Mandy Pan (who was born in Sabah #MalaysiaBoleh) treated us to several belly-good selections. The Coffee Napoleon was presented in a glass cup that contain various layers and textures of coffee praline, dark chocolate cream, hazelnut with a scoop of gula Melaka ice cream.
There were also Durian “Royale” Souffle, Azelia Tart (coffee cremeux and caramelized hazelnut, with Bailey ice cream) and our personal favourite, the Le Mandarine (orange marmalade with basil cremeux mandarin-yogurt sorbet).
