Aw, love is in the air for Li Chen (李晨) and Fan Bingbing (范冰冰).
Last Saturday (16th September), the actor popped the question to his girlfriend of 2 years, while celebrating her 36th birthday. How romantic is that?
As per Chinese reports, the proposal took place in an intimate dinner party. The venue was decorated in pink and white roses as well as balloons. There were even 6 extravagant fondant cakes decorated after Bingbing’s favourite cats. The beautiful actress was reportedly moved to tears when her beau got down on one knee to propose.
Bingbing even took to her Instagram and Weibo accounts to post a series of beautiful snapshots taken from event. “I think my life is already perfect. I don’t need the stars in the heaven. I just want happiness on earth. I am very happy and very lucky. Thank you for loving me!” she wrote. Li Chen shared the good news on his social media site with the caption, “Us, forever“. Bingbing soon forwarded the post, adding, “Forever, and ever“.
Li Chen also surprised Bingbing with princess bride doll fashioned in her likeness, specially for the occasion. The stunning doll was custom made by Canadian artist Marina Bychkova. According to NetEase, Bychkova doesn’t typically take requests to customised her creations, but after months of persuasion, she agreed to Li Chen’s demands.
For the past 1 year, the 38-year-old Chinese actor has been sharing their love story to Bychkova via photos and videos. The result was an incredible handcrafted doll that reportedly cost a whopping cost US$300,000 (which is approximately RM1,255,700).

The lovebirds met on the set of their 2014 drama, “The Empress Of China”, where Bingbing played empress Wu Zetian while Li Chen starred as Wu’s childhood sweetheart, general Li Mu. The pair then became an official couple in May 2015.
Bingbing once shared that she was the one who made the first move and asked Li Chen out on their first date. No word yet on their wedding date but we bet it’ll be a lavish affair. Congrats guys 😉
