“Love” is in the air!
As promised, YG Entertainment has dropped the music video for Psy’s (싸이, real name Park Jae Sang) “Love” featuring BIGBANG member Taeyang at 12pm KST on Monday (17th July).
“Love” is featured in the 39-year-old singer’s 8th studio album, “4×2=8”, which dropped on 10th May. The upbeat track was co-written by Psy and producer Yoo Gu Hyung, whose previous credits include the 2012 worldwide hit “Gangnam Style”.
Directed by award-winning New Zealand-born choreographer and actress Parris Goebel, the music video starts off with a cute animation and features all-female hip-hop dance crew ReQuest Crew, who were also in CL’s “Hello Bitches”. While it does not feature Psy or Taeyang, the dance group’s energetic and fun choreography is enough to keep you watching.
“What we need is love/ What we need is love” sings Psy and Taeyang in the chorus.
In other news, Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has been overtaken by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again”. In speaking with Billboard, the K-Pop singer talked about the song and the viral video.
He said, “It was not that special. Before ‘Gangnam Style’, I had already done music and been a singer in Korea for more than a decade, since 2001. Similarly to other previous singles, I made energetic music and funny music along with funny dances, funny videos, and funny lyrics. I honestly didn’t mean anything that much.”
