Malaysians will be enjoying a long weekend because of Labour Day on Monday (1st May), but for some, it won’t be a happy weekend.
Several areas in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling have been experiencing water disruption due to a burst pipe behind the ELC International School, Jalan Sierramas Barat in Sungai Buloh.
According to SYABAS, repair works are currently underway and will be completed within 48 hours. After repair works are done, it will take up to 3 days for the water supply to be restored to affected residents.
The Emergency Response Plan (ERP) has also been carried out and water aid has been sent out to prioritised areas such as hospitals.
Consumers who need to request for relief water supply can also send a SMS to 15300 in this format: (Type: Tanker<space>Name & Address).

Instead of the estimated 48 hours, SYABAS has worked round the clock and completed their pipe repair works at 7:45pm yesterday (Thursday, 27th April). They’ve also informed the public that water supply will be restored in stages.
Their statement reads:
“Water supply to the affected areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, and Shah Alam are being restored in stages. Premises located on higher ground and at the end of the water distribution systems will take long time to fully recover.”
