“The icon is back.”
During this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), HMD Global announced the return of the legendary Nokia 3310!
The new Nokia 3310 runs on the Series 30+ software, boasting a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 2-megapixel camera, an internal memory of 16MB, and even a microSD slot. Unlike its older, brick-like counterpart, the latest feature phone is smaller, thinner, lighter, and more colourful. Did we mention that the new phone comes with the modern version of the classic game, “Snake”?
Besides that, users are also able to do basic web surfing (it relies on 2.5G connectivity, slower than 3G or 4G) and its battery life is amazing. The standby time on the new phone is 31 days, with a maximum talk time of 22.1 hours.
“It’s almost like a digital detox or a holiday phone. If you want to switch off to an extent but you still need to have a (mobile) lifeline, it’s a brilliant solution,” HMD’s chief executive Arto Nummela told the BBC.
According to Lowyat.NET, the modern Nokia 3310 is set to release in Q2 this year. It will be priced at €49 (approx. RM230).
