Arts lovers, get excited for Urbanscapes because they have finally announced the official dates for this year’s festival!
Mark your calendars, guys. It will be held on 5th – 21st May.
Founded in 2002, Urbanscapes is one of the longest-running creative arts festivals in Malaysia. It was initially founded with the aim to bring together Malaysian creative communities from the fields of music, the arts, design, film, and other creative disciplines. The community-centric festival has now grown to include the best from around the world and is built on the belief that great things happen when people come together.
Expectations are through the roof because last year’s edition saw an amazing line-up of both local and international musicians such as Rudimental, M83, Tame Impala, Hujan x Bittersweet, Danisa, Pitahati, and more. Besides that, Kuala Lumpur’s historic square Medan Pasar was also used as the festival hub called Urbanscapes House.
No venue and line-up information have been confirmed yet, but we’ll update this post as soon as we get ’em details 🙂
UPDATE (1st March, 11am):
The first wave line up is out!
This year’s Urbanscape will feature British electronic music group Clean Bandit, British rock band TTNG (This Town Needs Guns), Mylets aka Henry Kohen, Danish alternative rock band Mew, as well as many talented local acts such as SWIMS and The Venopian Solitude.
