“If you want to stay alive, take the next KTX to Busan.”
The upcoming South Korean zombie thriller-action blockbuster “Train To Busan” (부산행, aka “Busan Bound”) will be making its premiere at the midnight screening for the 69th Cannes Film International Festival next week (11th to 22nd May). The cast members and director will be attending the festival’s red carpet event as well.
Directed by Yeon Sang Ho (from the animation “The King Of Pigs”), “Train To Busan” is a zombie epic that revolves around a group of passengers on a KTX train from Seoul to Busan who are desperately struggling to survive when a disastrous virus hits South Korea, turning citizens into zombies.
The star-studded cast includes veteran actor Gong Yoo (from “Coffee Prince”), Ma Dong Seok (from “Bad Guys”), Ahn So Hee (former Wonder Girls), Jung Yoo Mi (from “Our Sunhee”), Choi Woo Sik (from “Rooftop Prince”), and child actor Kim Soo Ahn.

This is not the first time that director Yeon Sang Ho was invited to attend Cannes. In fact, he is the first Korean filmmaker to be invited 2 years in a row for films in both animation and live-action categories.
