Bangtan Boys aka BTS “run” their way to our hearts with the title track of their new mini album, “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2”.
The release of the track came after their talent agency, Big Hit Entertainment (an ex-subsidiary of JYP Entertainment), teased fans with scores of concept photos of the album.
Formed in 2013, BTS is a 7-member idol boy group that consists of leader Rap Monster, lead rapper Suga, vocalist V, lead rapper and dancer J-Hope, main dancer Jimin, vocalist Jin, and maknae Jungkook.
Having performed at various music programmes and won several “New Artist of the Year” awards, the boys’ comeback was highly anticipated by fans because the new album is the follow-up mini album to “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1”, their 3rd mini album which was released earlier in April this year.
Unlike their previous single “Dope (쩔어), the story in the “Run” music video ties in with the stories in their “I Need You” music video and their comeback prologue, “Butterfly”.
There are different speculations on the meaning behind the whole concept and the aspects of the music video shots. Some fans speculated that the music video for “Run” shows how things would have ended up differently if the members’ characters didn’t die in “I Need You” and “Butterfly”.
Others speculated that it shows how Jin’s character is unable to escape from his misery and still grieving over the death of his fellow members’ characters.
No matter what the outcome of the situation, “Run” brought the boys back to their roots, as they first exploded into the K-pop scene by singing about societal problems and expectations.
Its music video is guaranteed to reduce fans to a puddle of tears because BTS impressed us not only with their musical talents, but also their brilliant acting chops.
