In conjunction with “Star Wars Day”, we thought that it’d be apt to feature some real-life “Star Wars” destinations for all you Jedi and Padawan travellers.
GoEuro.com, the search engine for comparing and booking flights, coach and rail travel across Europe, may not be able to take you to a galaxy far, far away, but the team partnered with GetYourGuide to rank the out-of-this-world locations used throughout the “Star Wars” franchise, including those for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
From the filming locations to Jedi training facilities, and right down to the theme parks that feature “Star Wars” in a big way, here are some of the best “Star Wars” adventures in the world:
- Legoland
- Lars Homestead and Tatooine Desert Scenes, Tunisia
- Rancho Obi Wan, USA
- The exterior of Lars Homestead, Tunisia
- Madam Tussauds’ Star Wars Exhibits, United Kingdom and Germany
Taking the top spot as the top “Star Wars” experience is Legoland. The company features real life-size wing fighters and movie characters to help you feel the Strength of the Force. It is also a great place to introduce children to the “Star Wars” experience, even before they have seen the movies themselves.
To work out the position of the 31 sites and experiences, GoEuro combined the scores for accessibility, accommodation and amenities (each worth 10%) with the Strength of the Force (worth 70%) to work out the overall score.
The Strength of the Force rates how much a fan will feel the presence of “Star Wars” at a specified location.
