To be honest, we can’t remember the last time we freaked out over “Jelena” news.
But Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez just surprised the world in the biggest way by dropping collab, “Strong”, on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio.
The stripped-down duet is clearly all about their past, intense relationship, with Selena kicking off what sounds like a lyrical conversation by singing, “I’m just wishing you were better at communication…” and later, “Wishing I was better with the distance.”
“Strong” goes on to engage the ex-couple in trading vocals, describing a duo wishing to be able to work things out in a relationship.
The full lyrics is as follows:
There’s no sophistication in my lack of patience
I’m just wishing you were better at communication.
As I sit here steady waiting
Wishing that you would call my name in
Wishing I was better with the distance
It’s cause you’re the only one
I’m really missing
Nobody else would be forgiving
Cause of all the love that you give me
All of the love that you give me
All of the love that you give me
Wishing I was better at this damn thing
Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change
Wishing I was better at this damn thing
Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change
Gotta be strong, strong, strong
Gotta be strong, strong, strong
What should I do? Should I go?
Who do I talk to? Nobody knows
Who knows the answer to all of my question
When will I get over this, over this
Wishing I was better with the distance
It’s cause you’re the only one I’m really missing
Nobody else would be forgiving
Cause of all that love that you give me
All of the love that you give me
All of the love that you give me
(Wishing I was better at this damn thing
Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change)
Wishing I was better at this damn thing
Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change
Gotta be strong, strong, strong
Gotta be strong, strong, strong
Although they are no longer together, the former couple rekindles the flame on the stripped-down duet over an acoustic guitar. See, you thought you knew everything about their love but clearly, you had no idea.
Of course, “Jelena” fans all over the world had a meltdown the moment the song surfaced on the interwebs. The original YouTube post has since been removed, but not before multitudes of fans ripped it and re-uploaded it.

Neither singers have addressed the track but with Justin’s album, “Purpose” slated to drop on 13th November, fans are speculating it’s for real. We’ll find out soon enough, we guess!
Meanwhile, this perfectly describes our reaction to the surprise track:
